The Russell Education Foundation mission is to eradicate illiteracy among inner city youth and empowering, inspiring, and encouraging at-risk youth to become success citizens.
WE BELIEVE
Our vision is to eradicate the achievement disparity among low-income students in South Florida by offering high-quality afterschool and summer learning programs.
The Russell Education Foundation (REF) embodies key principles: prioritizing learning at the core of our mission, fostering connections between parents, schools, and Russell Reading Rooms, and assessing program quality outcomes tailored for afterschool environments.
GIVING CHILDREN THE SKILLS TO SUCCEED
Since 1999, the Russell Education Foundation has positively influenced the lives of more than 20,000+ low-income students and their families.
Many of our students succeed in high school and graduate college, securing fulfilling employment and becoming responsible parents. The Russell Reading Room program provides essential childcare for low-income, working parents from 4-6 pm. This enables them to maintain stable employment and peace of mind because their children can attend a high-quality after-school program at no cost.
